Krystal completed her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2014. She briefly worked in the field of Child and Youth work before pursuing her passion for fitness. She ran a successful personal training and group fitness studio for 4 years. The emotional and psychological component linked to people`s physical health journey`s intrigued her and led her to completing a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Krystal has worked in a community setting for the last few years where she offered individual psychotherapy and led a variety of virtual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups.
I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness in my sessions. However, I have also received training in other evidence-based approaches including, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT),Solution-Focused Therapy, Brain spotting (Phase 1) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
